The education sector has embarked on the most ambitious transformation in living memory, under the auspices of the Building Schools for the Future programme. If inspiration and aspiration are the big ideas; actual delivery needs a robust value proposition and a true partnering environment.

The numbers are certainly impressive. 3500 Secondary schools. 15 years. £60 Billion plus.

Augmenting the ‘Building Schools for the Future’ programme is new funding for the primary sector under the ‘Primary Capital Programme’. These burgeoning C21st educational needs mean that more schools will be built or transformed every year than were built in the last decade of the C20th in total.

Doors and hardware within educational establishments are subjected to very high levels of use and abuse; meaning reliability, safety and low maintenance plus long-term sustainable performance are crucial considerations for the specifier and end-user client.

Under new European durability standards, our Classroom Steel Doorsets - complete with Ingersoll Rand Security Technologies hardware - are classified with a Severe Duty rating and satisfy the most demanding fire, acoustic and security requirements which today’s schools, colleges and universities demand.
