Ingersoll Rand Security Technologies
Creating a safe and secure world

Protecting building occupants from blast effects is an international focus of current research and development. Until recently the challenges of designing a sliding door system that can be positioned within the building structure, capable of withstanding the blast overpressures typically presented by a vehicle bomb has precluded the use of bi-parting doors for this function.

This has meant that designers and architects have been unable to incorporate blast resistant, automated door systems into their projects.

Ingersoll Rand’s automatic doors are designed to protect building occupants from the effects of an explosion, such as high-velocity shards of glass and the effects of a door being projected into an occupied area. An additional aim was to ensure that, after the “event” security of the doors from intruders is not unduly compromised.
